How understanding CYCLES changed my life

How understanding CYCLES changed my life

In the last few years I have been delving into the cycles of life and how they all fit together. This wisdom has supported me to be fully present with my menstrual cycle, my life cycle and my connection to the earth, ancient Celtic spirituality and the moon.

Previously my way of living was to go fast, straight, push and expand, never stopping, never resting. Cyclical living has changed the way I live and helps me to connect to my WILD WOMAN. She is wise and loves to run free. She listens to her heart and not to ‘shoulds’. She knows who she is and is unafraid to run towards her dreams. She takes risks because she knows when she is supported - her body tells her, the Universe speaks to her and her emotions tell her that she is moving in the right direction.

Since attuning to these cycles, I know when I need to harness my feminine energy for inspiration, and my masculine energy for action. I know when it’s time to challenge and when it’s time to surrender. When it’s time to nurture and when it’s time to take risks. When it’s time to rest and when it’s time to celebrate. Every day I try to listen and receive.

It might sound overwhelming to work with three different cycles but they are all so interconnected and feel like natural rhythms which ebb and flow. The moon is my tool for manifesting, menstrual cycle awareness for my self-care and the Celtic Wheel is the cycle that happens throughout the year and it is the tool that brings me back to nature. When you start to work with them you will see how beautifully and easily they can be weaved into your life.

How I work with moon cycles

I have been working with moon phases for nearly a decade. When I was a corporate solicitor and long before I was a yoga teacher, I began using the power of the moon to bring about things in my life that I had been dreaming about but never thought possible.

As women we are connected to the moon. It is the feminine energy, represents emotions and it also matches the around-about length of our own menstrual cycle.

Each phase has a different invitation. The new moon invites us to set intentions and manifest what it is we want to bring into our reality. The First Quarter is about using the rising energy of the moon to help you take inspired action on the new moon intentions that you set. The Full Moon is a time to celebrate your achievements and see your manifestations come to life. The Last Quarter calls us to shed, let go and create more space for the new things we want to call in.

How I work with my Menstrual Cycle

Awareness of the phase of my menstrual cycle has been transformative. I lived most of my menstruating years completely unaware. I realise now how much I was missing by this lack of awareness. I now understand and live by my inner cycles. When I learnt about the four seasons - Inner Winter, Inner Spring, Inner Summer and Inner Autumn I couldn't believe that these existed and if I’m honest I didn’t relate to them. I started to track my cycles and noticed this strong rhythm, energy and invitation of each season. Each has their magic and I use the seasons for my work, my social life, creativity and most importantly my own self-care.

How I work with the Celtic Wheel

The Celtic Wheel is potent - it exists for us before we even know what it is and that is because we are nature and we are deeply affected by seasons. Before I started to really work with the energy of each season and festival - the Celtic Wheel has 8 festivals -  I was resisting some and over-indulging in others. I never wanted summer to end and I went against the slower pace of winter. The Celtic Wheel, which was introduced to me by my teacher Mari Kennedy allowed me to reconnect with nature in a whole new and deeper way. The Wheel has taught how to live in a way that reflects nature and in that way allows me to be the truest, natural expression of myself. It is the soundtrack of my life and every year I go around the wheel I gain more - wisdom, magic and self-compassion.

Bringing it full circle

My tool box is full of different meditation, journaling and embodied movement practices that bring these cycles into my life. This way of living has led me on a new path, away from being an unsatisfied corporate lawyer, to living a life I’m really proud of.

My intention with Wild Circles is to create a space where women can learn, understand, embrace and honour these different cycles and earth energies and harness their power.

When we live more in alignment with our innate feminine wisdom, with the wisdom of nature and the cosmos, there really is no limit to the magic we can create in our lives.

The Wild Circles Journey

We will begin with winter dreaming to get really clear on what we want from our lives and from there, begin peeling back the layers, taking inspired action, supporting and witnessing each other's growth and dreams unfold. You don’t have to begin having a plan, we will delve into that together. Just knowing that you want to live more in alignment with your soul's purpose is the only intention you need for this journey.

This 5 month container will give you the support, accountability and inspiration you need to connect to your wild woman, and harness the power of cyclical living to create a life you truly LOVE to live and I can’t wait to work with you.
